Love it! Great idea especially the pendant. I'm a lapidary artist and make opal pendants and stones the same way. It's actually the dome shape of the cabachon or glass part on top that gives it the magnification effect I don't think it really has anything to do with the glue but yeah man thanks for sharing all that stuff :-) can't wait to make something!

If you had done the clear coat with the body still disassembled you could have sanded and fixed it and done more clear coats if needed and it would look like a million bucks.

I glue the cabchon to the skin then cut it out

The problem with the resine its probably u didnt clean the acrylic once it was dryed thats why the resine did that little sink holes it happen to me when i resine some paintings but i might do that to my bass too ive got a cheap one to do a project like that 😊 does look awesome i hope u keep that bass 👍

Mica needs a translucent medium or it’s covered by the opaque paint base.

Are all of your paints the same brand name or are they multiple brand name?

This technique is giving me an idea to do Northern lights or aurora borealis

Have you considered UV resin for your rubix cubes? As you're only doing a very thin layer it would take 30s to cure under a UV/LED lamp (if that). Same protection for your skins but doesn't take long to cure.

Does the resin add noticeable extra weight ? Also does it change the sound ?

You're the first person I've seen to mix color into a separate part of the resin prior to combining them. I've been adding the color when I pour the parts together. Thanks for this now seemingly obvious tip next time I make a resin checker and chess board!

Would it have made any difference if the cotton fabric had been dampened first , or wet even , do you think ? So as to have allowed the paints to travel through the fibres and become absorbed/saturated more ???

I hoped you would cast one with a mold . The outcome is very beautiful . But with a mold you could have done some painting or including thin objects in it
